Chuba Akpom is sticking with England
Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom will not be switching his international allegiance to Nigeria, at least not just yet.
Akpom, 19, was one of three players announced by the NFF last Thursday as having agreed to switch nationalities and play for Nigeria.
But Emeka Obasi, who represents the player, said that decision had not been taken. Yet.
'Yes, there has been contact with Chuba, but he has not made that decision yet,' Obasi told ColinUdoh.com.
'Just to Clarify, Chuba is grateful for the interest. He is proud of his Nigerian heritage and has not ruled out playing for Nigeria in the future.
'However at this moment in time Chuba's priority is to break into the team at Arsenal and he is enjoying playing for England.'
Steven Ukoh, one of the trip, has already been cleared by FIFA and is expected to make his debut in Nigeria's January friendlies.
There has been no word as yet from Akpom's Arsenal teammate Semi Ajayi
